Movie Review: Jurassic World

Movie Details:
Title: Jurassic World
Release Date: 12th June 2015
Cast: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D' Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Omar Sy, B.D. Wong, Irfan Khan
Rating: 3/5

This poster is MEGA awesome, I love this picture alot. I have to say Chris Pratt looks HOT in this movie, the last movie I saw of his was Guradians of the Galaxy (which I also loved).
http://milkysmile.blogspot.co.uk/http://milkysmile.blogspot.co.uk/http://milkysmile.blogspot.co.uk/

Where to begin with this movie and where to end? I loved this movie alot, I have to say watching Jurassic movies from a young age I have grown up watching these films, the first film is one of my favourites till date. The sequel was okay I thought, and the third one I did not like at all. But this movie is very similar to the first three, however it does involve a twist. A little spoiler alert; if you have watched each movie, you will notice that in each movie that Dinosaur clan (clan? I don't know why I thought that lol) get intelligent everytime. You have probably guessed where I am leading to, yes the dinosaurs are very clever in this movie almost as if they were human ( I did say, 'as if'). OHMYGOD! T-rex's behaviour at the start of the movie is very astonishing.
Sneaky ;) http://milkysmile.blogspot.co.uk/.  What is even more surprising what Chris Pratt's role in this movie would be, I have to be totally honest when I was watching this I thought what an earth could his role in this movie be? But I was very amused and intrigued.

What the first 3 films failed to do with opening a famous resort park of Dinosaurs, they accomplish in this film. Jurassic World is a successful resort with all the latest tech and gear, in this movie they accomplish something different entirely. Chris Pratt is a Navy Veteran and a Velociraptor expert (also their trainer). What I found most interesting about these specific dinosaurs is how they work as a team and shown to be incredibly intelligent and devious. It seems as if each dinosaur plays a specialised role and they hunt as a pack. Bryce plays the role of Claire who is the Jurassic World Operations Manager.

The chemistry between these two main characters is an instant, you can practically see it in their eyes at least it seems that way for Owen, not so much for Claire. Although I did get the impression they are old flames as Claire makes a dig at Owen. I loved how Claire is an independent young woman who doesn't need anyone (or man) to live her life to the fullest and be happy. But that all goes wrong when her nephews come to visit and they enter a restricted area.

The Indominus Rex which is a hybrid created from various DNA from other dinosaurs is shown to be a very intelligent creature as it can camouflage itself and hides its heat from what is supposed to be the top of the range equipment.

Although some people didn't like the movie saying it was overrated , but I personally think it was better than the first 3 in some sense. This one included humour, is tech savvy, and has some badass characters. I have to admit it has a lot of comparisons with its predecessor's but I like to think this movie itself is a own kind of entertainment. The new cast brings a more refreshing vibe to the franchise, it gives a modern outlook to the film.

This movie is full of surprises, action, a potential love interest (now that I was not expecting), a kiss (maybe), drama and suspense. This movie will grip you till the edge of your seat. I will definitely recommend this movie to all movie lovers out there!

The Memento Mori Witch Series #2

26500528
Title: A Witch's Feast
Author: C.N. Crawford
Published: 10th October 2015
My Rating: 5/5
Recommend:Yes
Synopsis:

There are new rules governing the country--namely, no magic. But Fiona Forzese has never been good with rules...

After a ghostly army terrorized Boston, the Ranulf family say they'll help Fiona and her classmates finish up junior year. They say their old Virginia plantation is a safe haven. All Fiona and her secret coven have to to do is show up to a few math and English classes.

It should be a perfect solution. And it would be, if the Ranulfs weren't members of a witch-hunting cult.

As Fiona digs deeper into the Ranulf's past, she learns a dark truth that shocks her to her core. But it isn't only the Ranulfs who are keeping secrets, and as the witch-hunting cult closes in, Fiona is forced to confront the demons of her own past.

I am so glad the author asked me to review this early, thank you so much for the offer. I am so grateful she did! ^^

First things first, isn't the cover worth dying for? I am not sure who the cover is meant to be? Fiona? Whoever it is, I loved it to bits!!!!

This book was far more interesting than the first one, the attack in Boston affects everyone in some way or another and you see the characters adapt, develop and grow. I like reading from Jack's POV this time, it brought a lot more action and meaning to the plot. A Witch's Feast starts off where the first book ended, with the school being burnt down, classmates dying. Then Munroe comes to the rescue and things change drastically.

There are more characters introduced, Tobia's gains more power (how you may ask? You will have to read the book for that), Thomas and Oswald are trapped and tortured, Celia has gone mental (not sure how that happened? Is she really mental? Or only acting?) and loads more. All this action and drama kept me on my toes at all times, it is disappointing what happens to Marianna :( but she makes it the end.

I am not sure who I liked more this time; Tobias, Thomas, Oswald or Jack. It is hard as you see a side of Jack you don't get to see in the first book (he is more of a central character in this book).I would probably say Thomas, I loved his bravery, courage, how he tried to stay strong.

Cassidy & Spenser #2

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review, thanks to Edelweiss

THIS BOOK WAS FREAKING AMAZING!!! CAN YOU TELL HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! :DDD

Not sure why I took so long reading this book, but OHMYGOD!!!! this book was absolutely amazing. I loved Caity and Spense, gosh they are soooo adorable with a capital 'A'. Baldwin had a very interesting way of introducing the book with a POV that I think is both essential but not at the same time. I have to admit, when I read the first chapter I didn't quite get what I was reading I had to double check to make sure I was reading the right book.

It all begins with one blonde girl falling from the sky who appeared like she was a fallen angel because of her good looks. The interesting part was, this acts as a catalyst and more deaths begin to happen. The police then recruit Profilers to help them find this criminal as they have no idea who they are looking for. There is more to this than just the crime itself, I liked how they were mini plots of the other characters too but not too much that the reader would deviate from the story.

I loved both Caity and Spense, I didn't read the first novel but I could tell there was definitely some romance going on between them. I would recommend this to crime lovers out there.

I like to imagine Caity in my head like this :)

From how Spense is described in the book by the author, I would imagine Spense being like this to anyone who flirts with Caity. Lol

Escape From Witchwood Hollow

Title: Escape From Witchwood Hollow

Published: 29th October 2014

How deep into Witchwood Hollow does Honoria dare venture?

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review

Okay, so I am not to sure what to feel about this book. It started as very intriguing, this is the kind of book for history lovers out there like me. But then it did become a little hard to catch upon what the book was telling me about with the alternate views of Lady Clifford, Albertine and Honoria. I won't reveal too much of the story as it will ruin the story for everyone else :P.

Honoria was a good character but I found it hard to like her, she thought of herself as never being shy to speak out loud but then she would just get persuaded into doing things someone who she only just met. I didn't like Leon at all, I'm not sure why he claimed to love his girlfriend but wanted romance with Honoria?

This book is more of a history telling kind of book, there wasn't any romance involved, no growth character at all. What made me dislike the book even more was the ending, I can't say it satisfied me.

The Seeker Series #1

Seeker (The Seeker Series, #1)
Title: Seeker
Author: Amy Reece
Published: 28th April 2015
My Rating: 3/5
Recommend:Yes
Synopsis:

Ally Moran has always just known about things—things she shouldn’t really be able to know…

Suddenly when she starts having vivid visions about a former friend who is in desperate trouble, the adults in her life think she might hold the key to an ancient mystery.

Jack Ruiz has a troubled past, but is trying to make a fresh start at a new high school…

He just wants to keep his head down and graduate, hopefully before he turns 20. The last thing he needs is to get involved with a feisty redhead and her psychic visions.

While Jack valiantly attempts to keep Ally at arm’s length, she is equally determined to be a part of his life. Who will win this battle of wills?

More importantly…

Can this unlikely couple work together to find answers to Ally’s visions before someone gets killed?

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review

Ally was a very lovable character, she is a seer or one who is told becoming a powerful seer as she can do many things that is unheard of in the seer community whereas Gramps and her Mother have very mild abilities such as Gramps if she touches something that belongs to someone else she will normally 'sense' something, I didn't really understand her ability whereas Ally's mother can find things that are lost. Ally has very vivid visions but can also see into the future which is unheard of. Soon after she gets these visions, all the drama begins. She needs to help Veronica (who used to be her friend) as she sees her getting physically abused, now the mystery is who?

Jack was a character I liked but I found him confusing with all his mixed signals. You could tell there was electrifying chemistry between him and Ally so why was he holding back? Only through halfway in to the book do you get why. Also, I find it ironic that he was watching Ally throughout the whole year and she never noticed, all because of one incident to things start to take place.

I loved Grams in this story, she was sooo hillarious, made the story worthwhile :)

Overall, not a bad book at all. The ending made me want to read what happens next, I think Grams friend has a ulterior motive. Hm...

Candy #1

23976054
Title: Like Candy
Author: Debra Doxer
Published:28th July 2015
My Rating: 3/5
Recommend:Yes
Synopsis:

Revenge is sweet, just like candy.

Candy Seaborne knows she’s badass. She takes after her father, an assassin and possibly a spy, although he won’t admit to either. She idolizes him. Her dream is to follow in his footsteps. But first, she has to finish high school.

Biding her time, waiting for real life to begin, Candy craves drama and isn’t above manufacturing some. If you’re a classmate who wronged her or a boyfriend who cheated, watch your back. She’s no pushover, and revenge may be her favorite pastime.

Jonah Bryson is the senior class heartthrob who breaks all the stereotypes. He’s a jock, but he isn’t the typical player. He’s moody and antisocial. No girl has gotten anywhere with him since his last girlfriend broke his heart.

Candy sees Jonah as a challenge and the perfect distraction. But she may be in over her head because unlike everyone else, Jonah isn’t buying her tough act. He sees the lost, lonely girl inside. He sees too much. When he looks at her that way, she wants to let her guard down and be vulnerable. But that’s the last thing she should do because her father’s world is spilling over into hers, and life is about to get real much sooner than Candy expected.

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review

Could Candy get anymore awesome! :D

Candy was a very diverse character, and she is real in the sense of acting like any normal teenager. Some teens if not everyone act like they are strong but it is all an act. An act because to save themselves from hoping and from their heart breaking. I normally cannot relate to predominant characters often, but for some reason I did with Candy. I really did feel sorry for; her mum dies of cancer, her dad is very frustrating most of the times and made me want to a throw a book at him. Then comes all the high school drama, yay!! Lol

description

The plot of this story is powerful. Now, the reason I say this because, the book talks about killing someone with no remorse. I had a problem with this, one conversation between Candy and her father is about Candy wanting to become like her father. When she states what his profession is, he is angered by it. But what is most disturbing to me as a human and as a reader was him saying that he would kill anyone have no regrets, well what about if the person had a family? What about that? I can understand if someone needs to be killed because of killing innocent civillians or putting them at risk. Why does Candy want to be like her father who kills people then puts his family at risk? This was one of the main reasons why I did not give it more than 3 stars even though I really wanted to.

On the bright side, I LOVED LOVED LOVED JONAH!!!! I cannot say this enough, I was sad to find out that he was posing as a teenage even though he was not one (age 22) but darn it Candy, couldn't you listen to why he did this? I wanted to find out why my sweet Jonah was like that! I CANNOT wait for the next book, the book ended in a CLIFFHANGER! Oh man, I need that BOOK NOW!!!

Everealm

Danger awaits, as we journey through Everealm, the first book of the Everealm Series.

Adult content. Intended for mature audiences

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review

First of all the name of the book, Everealm don't you think that sounds like something majestic? I do :)

I really did like Bree, Rowan and Sid. They were definietly interesting characters. What I like most about this book is, how it deals with the concept of empowerment. Like today in society, empowerment is only seen as male dominance and women as weakling. Similarly, in this book both Bree and Sid are shown dealing with this in subtle ways.

My most beloved character would have to be Dagan, I think he is becoming the new love of my life! *sighs*. He was such a pleasure to read, so darn funny in the least places you expect him to be. Oh and the romance between him and Sid, oh gosh they are too steamy someone pass me a fan to calm myself down before I faint. Lol

The plot of this was very common in the grounds of the next heir becoming King or Queen, facing challenges from a family member, betrayals are made, lines are crossed and secrets are revealed.

I hated Silas and Vacilla, I hope they rot in hell, die and cease to exist. They literally made life miserable for everyone!

In Honour of Paul Walker's Birthday! :)

If Paul was alive today, he would be 42, who knew that minutes after he sat in the Porshe he would never return or see his family and friends ever again. All it takes is one moment for everything to end. This reminds me to never take advantage of anything, you never do know when a moment just becomes a memory.
http://milkysmile.blogspot.co.uk/http://milkysmile.blogspot.co.uk/http://milkysmile.blogspot.co.uk/http://milkysmile.blogspot.co.uk/http://milkysmile.blogspot.co.uk/http://milkysmile.blogspot.co.uk/http://milkysmile.blogspot.co.uk/

Paul Walker was one of the best actors I have ever come across, anyone and everyone had only one thing to say about him; how much of a beautiful soul he is! There isn't enough words in the English or any language for that matter to suffice how much of a legend he is. Many people love Paul for alot of different reasons, I personally love Paul for every reason and everything that defines the being of Paul. Not only was he a legendary actor, good to his family but he was also compassionate towards strangers and animals. No matter how much time goes by, it will never be easy to forget him; he gave us a lot of different ways to remember him. I can only hope that the angel resides happily in heaven and is looking down with a smile upon his face. My heart goes out to the #Fastfamily, his friends and family, this must be twice as hard for them as it is for us.

Until we #Seeyouagain, Happy Birthday sweet angel. You are very dearly missed by alot of people who love you!

Water Rites #1

24660306
Title: Water Rites
Author: J. R Pearse Nelson
Published: 9th March 2015
My Rating: 4/5
Recommend:Yes
Synopsis:

In the centuries old struggle for territory between selkies and finfolk, Lorelei Dorian is something new.

Secrets, once uncovered, can change everything. And they will for Lorelei Dorian. She thinks she’s a normal girl, with a talent for swimming and an unparalleled adoration for math. When a new friend confronts her with her true nature, her world will never be the same. Instead, a whole new world awaits her. Can the selkies and the finfolk share the sea – and Lorelei – or will they tear her to pieces as one more pawn in the long game hidden under the waves?

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review

When I first saw the cover of this book, I thought to myself its about a girl who can sing and is a mermaid, I thought it would be set in the backdrop of Atlantis (Like the Little Mermaid?) or something along the lines. I couldn't be more wrong, what a wrong a judgement that was ;D lol

Did you think that too? :)

This story begins with Lorelei happily swimming with her mamma and untying the skin from her body. Like what??? was my initial reaction, why would these magical creatures need some type of 'skin' that would allow them to transform? But I guess that what makes the plot more interesting, why do they need it? Can they not transform themselves like we have read and seen in many books and films?

16 years later and Lorelei is running late for Math class? Lol, I loved the normalcy of this before everything comes crashing down. Vardon is shown to have feelings for Lori and wants to make her his, well he doesn't exactly say this but is hinted towards it with his actions, feelings and how it is depicted in the book. Clay, on the other hand watches Lori from far and in his mind has already claimed her. Lori is his bride. Creepy much? Clay is Finfolk and Vardon is Selkie. Now before you go thinking what the heck those are? Let me tell you the difference because these are the same questions I asked myself

Selkie is someone who can transform into a seal, whilst a finfolk are simply shapeshifters, who closely resemble to a mermaid but they are not mermaids. The other big difference is, Finfolk are evil creatures (kind of like sorcerous)who use their magic to manipulate people for selfish reasons- kind of like what Clay does to Lori. There is war between these two species, they dislike sharing the sea with one another so stay away from one another. Comes along Lori who I assume will bridge the difference between these two in the end! I hope!

Back to the story, Clay tries to lure Lori into marrying him but she doesn't like him to begin with not that I blame her cos he is a creep and stalker. Her interest lies in Vardon. Now I have high hopes for #VardonLorie to be together, please make that work!

I loved how adaptable Lorie was to change, it wasn't to quick nor was it too slow. She was very acceptable but found the change hard at the same time and with everything else in her life, it became hard to cope. Too many expectations. Just like the problems in every teenage's life!

I honestly cannot wait for the next book, I know it will be just better than this one

I would imagine the skin would look like this but with knots?

Snow Like Ashes #1

Title:Snow Like Ashes
Author: Sara Raasch
Published:14th October 2014
My Rating: 5/5
Recommend:Yes
Synopsis:

A heartbroken girl. A fierce warrior. A hero in the making.

Sixteen years ago the Kingdom of Winter was conquered and its citizens enslaved, leaving them without magic or a monarch. Now, the Winterians’ only hope for freedom is the eight survivors who managed to escape, and who have been waiting for the opportunity to steal back Winter’s magic and rebuild the kingdom ever since.

Orphaned as an infant during Winter’s defeat, Meira has lived her whole life as a refugee, raised by the Winterians’ general, Sir. Training to be a warrior—and desperately in love with her best friend, and future king, Mather — she would do anything to help her kingdom rise to power again.

So when scouts discover the location of the ancient locket that can restore Winter’s magic, Meira decides to go after it herself. Finally, she’s scaling towers, fighting enemy soldiers, and serving her kingdom just as she’s always dreamed she would. But the mission doesn’t go as planned, and Meira soon finds herself thrust into a world of evil magic and dangerous politics – and ultimately comes to realize that her destiny is not, never has been, her own

Oh gosh, this book!

description

This book is definitely a rollercoaster ride if you like those kind of books. It will pull you in to the depths of the story, until you feel you can't go no more, can't breath properly like there is no air, so close that there is not space that you cannot differentiate who's who. WOW. I know right? I felt like that too, and my emotions are still high on alcohol like I am drunk lol.

Meira is very alluring character, she is a perfect equilibrium, calm, balanced. I love how she is balanced between feeling the pain of her people, wanting and having the desire to help people as well as being strong and brave when she needs to be. She is truly a remarkable character and one of my faves in the book! But not one without flaws, what makes me love her so much is the need to be better and alleviate everyone's pain. It is quite sad how in the beginning she is told that she is an orphan who craves the need to be accepted, mainly from Sir who she looks up to (he brings her up)

Mather, is supposed to be king. Or so he is told. Only to find out that he is not, all the worrying, the stress, the fears, wanting magic, the need and desire to change his people's situation only to result it being thrown out the window of the lie he is told and is constantly reminded up. Although, I did not like this part very much, since Meira has feelings for him and vice versa since they are consistently reminded how they are cannot be together because he is royalty and she is an orphan. That all changes when she realises who she is, which is towards the.....nope not telling you. You will have to read the book to know when she does find out! ;) Trust me you won't regret it! But I also see why the author made this or needed this to happen.

Prince Theron. Now he is someone who I can talk about forever. He is sooooooo hot in the book. His accepting nature, kind, gentle, compassionate yet brave, calm, courageous in the face of danger. What I love most about him was his compassion, how he wants to genuinely want to know about everyone; their wellbeing, interests, name, what they do etc. Meira is also attracted by this quality too something she longs for and doesn't get until she meets Theron, I find it quite amusing in which circumstances they both meet in! So adorable!
Albeit, I cannot say the same about his father, Noam :(

I loved the plot of this book, very hard to continue with because of the enormity that the Winterians face. But nevertheless, a very intruiging plot with a very vivid concept. It's so hard to find a good concept these days, so I fell in love with this one quite easily! :)
